I recently completed my Invisalign treatment with Pearls dental in Maynooth and received fantastic service and care throughout. They made me feel at ease during appointments and were always kind, helpful and friendly! I am SO happy with my new smile and would recommend Pearls to anyone looking for orthodontic treatment.

I was in pain with a lower wisdom tooth for nearly a year. It was sitting on the nerve in 2 places so it was a risky procedure. That being said the Doctor sent me for a CT scan to get a full picture on my tooth and nerves. She was happy in the end to take the tooth out. Talk about a quick job. In and out in 20 mins. No more pain and I didn't even feel a thing during the procedure. Cannot recommend this Dentist enough. The staff and nurses are all super friendly and trust me that you will have no worries going to this Dentist :-)

Dean

Very helpful, friendly staff and highly comphrehence work. Willing to resolve any areas of my Orthodontic treatment that I wasn't 100% happy with regardless of how long it would take. Thank you again to Ronan, Natalia and everyone else in Castleknock Orthodontics

Shane Whelan

Lovely experience from the moment I walked in the door and was greeted by the welcoming and friendly receptionist Dino to my appointment with Dr Anna who was also very friendly and helpful! Dr Anna was fantastic and really put me at ease. I’d highly recommend Artane Dental!

Dr Boggs is hands down the best dentist we've ever had. My son woke up howling of pain in his back molar, it was a complete nightmare. I brought him to Dr. Boggs And it turns out an absolute eejit dentist in Athlone botched his filling. Absolutely shocking. Dr. Shane not only alleviated the pain but sorted the tooth and did so with a gentle and loving hand. That was my son, Ciaran. I won’t even get into the problems with Mickey’s root canal. but the jist of it is I thank my lucky stars for Dr Boggs and Kildare dental; without whom as a parent you’ll never get a proper night sleep again!

Fantastic treatment by Dr. Naomi and her professional (and glamorous) support team. Had two roots removed in under an hour, minimal pain. A very empathic surgeon.

I've probably spent 25 years getting teeth done by hygienist and other treatments to keep them right. Been to many dental clinics aswel over the years. But getting a appointment with hygienist Elaine Whelan at Balbriggan Dental and Facial Clinic brought a whole new standard of hygienisim by Elaine. The work she did was never done by anyone lve been to previous. If you get her you will never go to anyone else. So let's hope she never retires. 10 out of 10. The staff at this dental have warmth and professionalism and care you won't get any where else. See you for next appointment Elaine and staff. Patrick Bentley.

Very professional and skilled, top to bottom. Cannot recommend them more highly. Shane is so thorough and informative, and lets you know every step of the way what’s going on so there are no surprises. Very calming, as well. The staff is friendly and very professional from the moment you walk in and throughout your appointment. They don’t try to sell you services you don’t need like other dentists in town. I highly recommend for everyone and thanks to the entire team for such life changing work

What should I know before treatment?

Everything you need to know about gummy smile solutions in Dublin, Kilkenny & Kildare

Gummy Smile

What is a gummy smile?

A gummy smile is when the upper lip sits high above the top teeth, showing a large area of gum when you smile. This can happen for a number of reasons, including excess gum tissue, a hyperactive upper lip, or the way teeth and jawbone develop.

Gummy Smile

What treatments are available?

The right solution depends on the cause. Options include anti-wrinkle treatment to relax the upper lip, fixed braces to improve dental development, or cosmetic dentistry to reshape teeth and gums. We’ll assess your smile and recommend the most suitable option.

Gummy Smile

Does the treatment hurt?

Most treatments are quick and comfortable. For non-surgical options, you may only feel mild pressure from tiny injections. For orthodontic or dental treatments, we’ll ensure you are completely comfortable throughout.

Gummy Smile

How long do results last?

Non-surgical treatments usually last 3-4 months, while orthodontic and dental treatments can provide long-term or even permanent results. Patients across Dublin and Kilkenny often combine treatments for the best outcome.

Gummy Smile

Am I suitable for gummy smile treatment?

Most adults are suitable, but the best treatment will depend on your unique cause. Patients from Dublin City Centre, Kilkenny, Kimmage, Balbriggan, and Artane book consultations to find out which option will work best for them.

What questions do patients in Dublin, Kilkenny & Kildare ask about gummy smile treatment?

Your treatment
questions
answered

What is a gummy smile?

A gummy smile occurs when too much gum shows above the top teeth when you smile. In an ideal smile, the upper lip sits just above the teeth. If you feel self-conscious about your gummy smile, treatments are available to help.

What causes a gummy smile?

Gummy smiles can be caused by several factors:

  1. Overgrowth of tissue: Excess gum tissue covers too much of your teeth, making them look shorter than they are.
  2. Hyperactive upper lip: Muscles that control the upper lip may lift it too far, exposing more gum.
  3. Dental development: The way your teeth and jawbone develop can contribute to a gummy smile.

How can a gummy smile be treated?

Treatment depends on the cause of your gummy smile. Solutions may include:

  • Injections to relax a hyperactive upper lip.
  • Braces to adjust dental development.

How do you determine the best solution?

Your dentist will assess your gums, teeth and jawbone to understand the cause of your gummy smile. Every patient is unique, so we tailor the treatment specifically to you.

What is the consultation process?

  1. Book a consultation: Discuss your smile and your goals with a skilled clinician at one of our practices across Dublin, Kilkenny & Kildare.
  2. Detailed analysis: We examine your mouth, gum tissue and jawbone structure to determine the best treatment.
  3. Personalised plan: A treatment plan is created around your needs and schedule, including follow-up appointments if required.
